Algumas que já usei e que gosto bastante:

Snort – Flexible Network Intrusion Detection System
Tshark – Wireshark network traffic analyzer (console interface)
WireShark – Wireshark network traffic analyzer

Kismet – Kismet is a 802.11b wireless network sniffer

Nmap – Nmap is a utility for network exploration or security auditing
Traceroute – Traces the route taken by packets over an IPv4/IPv6 network

Whois – This is a new whois (RFC 3912) client rewritten from scratch

host – DNS lookup utility

Chkrootkit – Checks for signs of rootkits on the local system

Wipe – Secure file deletion

Aide – Advanced Intrusion Detection Environment
TripWire – file and directory integrity checker

Debsums – Verify installed package files against MD5 checksums
