Conversores para o m$-office do formato standard ISO ODF

Hoje e depois de ler no slashdot uma interessante discussão sobre ODF vs CDF vs ooxml, e com relação a algo que já tinha escrito, resolvi experimentar o conversor da SUN, o ODF Plugin.

Como em casa não uso nada da microsoft e nem sequer tenho instalado com virtualização através de QEMU, VirtualBOX ou mesmo VMware, teve de ser feita no trabalho a experiência.

Após download do plugin da SUN, instalei e apareceu logo nos diversos programas de office da m$ entradas para exportar, importar e gravar em ODF.

Lá experimentei uns textos e correu tudo muito bem, falta ainda experimentar com a folha de cálculo e com o programa de apresentações, vamos a ver o que dá, mas para já não há desculpa nenhuma para não se USAR E ABUSAR do formato ABERTO ODF, podemos criar, gravar, abrir este formato no m$-office sem problemas, assim os amigos já não têm desculpa que não conseguem abrir os ODF que lhes enviamos e escusam de nos enviar *.doc, e isto é ainda mais válido para os diversos sites da Administração Pública que muitas das vezes têm ficheiros *.doc para download, sigam as pisadas de diversos outros países como Brasil, África do Sul, Malásia, Japão, Holanda, etc; e se não legislam para o uso do ODF, pelo menos aconcelhem a sua utilização.

Uma resposta possível às aldrabices do ooxml da micro$oft?!

Poderá a resposta possível contra o monopólio da micro$oft que tenderá a perpetuar-se e quem sabe até a crescer ainda um pouco mais passar, para além do forte uso do formato standard ISO, pelo software de colaboração/“groupware” como o Zimbra e o Alfresco em combinação com os standards do W3C – world wide web consortium – isto claro está, apenas para colmatar as faltas de interoperabilidade que quer o oxxml quer os formatos fechados anteriores da microsoft impôem ao mercado.

No entanto o ODF DEVE PREVALECER como FORMATO STANDAR ISO JÁ APROVADO, e ser usado e massificado por todos.

O verdadeiro plano da microsoft em relação ao ODF vs ooxml?!

Acabei de ler um interessantíssimo artigo de
Gary Edwards da Open Document Foundation sobre a impossibilidade de quer a microsoft implementar totalmente o ODF quer o contrário, programas como o Openoffice.org implementarem totalmente o ooxml.

Mas o que me chamou mesmo à atenção foi o que abaixo transcrevo, será que toda a fúria da m$ em aprovar o ooxml terá a ver com dominar a rede internet criando um pseudo-formato para subverter os standards W3C?
Será que o plano sempre foi o velho sonho da m$ em dominar completamente a world wide web?

“To understand why we turned to the W3C’s CDF “Compound Document Format”, and continue to fight, one has to grasp how seriously important this MSOffice bound business process issue is to the future of collaborative computing. If we can’t neutralize and re purpose MSOffice, the future will belong to MS-OOXML and the MS Stack. Note the MS Stack noticeably replaces W3C Open Web technologies with Microsoft’s own embraced “enhancements”. Starting with MS-OOXML/Smart Tags as a replacement for HTML-XHTML-RDF Metadata.
